Speak Out Virtual Tour Roadshow broadcast today at 11:00AM on YouTube Live
Wednesday, April 14th 2021: This year’s Young Social Innovators’ Speak Out Tour has gone virtual with a week-long campaign inviting teenagers across Ireland to upload and share the creative ways that they have contributed to their communities this year on a new digital platform.
Young people all over Ireland have been working together in teams to co-create solutions to issues they care about through Young Social Innovators. The Speak Out Virtual Tour provides an opportunity for young people to share their stories with a national audience and amplify their voices on issues that matter to them.
During the Speak Out Virtual Tour, all of the videos created by YSI teams are being shared on the platform, searchable by location and theme, giving a real insight into the social issues most relevant to Ireland’s teenage population.
Virgin Media News’s very own Zara King will be taking part in a special Speak Out Virtual Tour Roadshow broadcasting today at 11:00AM on YouTube Live.
Zara King, Virgin Media Television News Correspondent & Journalist had this to say: “I’m so excited to be part of this year’s YSI Speak Out Tour and can’t wait to hear the ideas for positive change the young people across Ireland come up with throughout the course of the week.
I’m especially looking forward to this Wednesday’s YouTube Live event where I’ll be going on a virtual tour of Ireland to meet some inspirational young people.”
Rachel Collier, Co-founder and CEO, Young Social Innovators said: “This is going to be a fantastic week for everyone involved. We are so inspired by the perseverance of so many YSI teams who continued to contribute to their communities during a very challenging year. With the help of Zara and Virgin Media, we can let young people know that their voices and their ideas are important and deserve to be heard.”
Visitors to the platform will be able to hear the voices of Ireland's teens on the issues that matter to them and will be able to share and support teams' projects throughout the week using the hashtag #speakout.
The platform is located at www.youngsocialinnovators.ie/speakout2021
The tour kicked off on Monday 12th April and will run until Friday, April 16th.
